An adult sorority organization in Jefferson is hosting an annual fundraiser that supports one of its mission goals.
PEO Chapter CZ is having the 2nd Annual “Pickleball for a Purpose” tournament on Saturday, September 13th at 9am at the pickleball and tennis courts at Russell Park. Organizer Jean Van Gilder invites all levels of skill to participate, as there will be a group that knows how to play and possess the skill of pickleball, while also catering to those who have an interest but do not necessarily know the rules or how to play.
Van Gilder points out that there is a $20 entry fee per team of two, with all of the money going towards the Chapter CZ scholarships that is given to a woman who had their education interrupted or are working to further their education beyond high school. Van Gilder appreciates advance registrations by contacting her at 515-370-1414 or there is a form at the Greene County Community Center that people can fill out as well. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the community center.
