Guthrie County Hospital recently announced some Town Hall meetings to share information on their possible construction project.
GCH Chief Executive Officer Chris Stipe confirms that they were approved for financing through the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they decided to hold the Town Hall meetings.
“First of all, one of the things I want to make sure people know is that it’s still a proposed project. Although we have loan approval from (the) USDA, we still have to bid this project and make sure that these cost projections are accurate and the (hospital) board (of trustees) still has to accept the bids and so forth. So it’s a proposed project. It’s not a, for sure thing that we’re going to do it, although we’re more than halfway there in terms of making that decision, but you know, there’s still some approvals that need to be had.”
Stipe adds that topics of discussion will include goals behind the project and why it matters to the community, an overview of the construction plan, details on USDA involvement, the project timeline and an open question and answer session. The Town Halls will be on September 10th at Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School, September 16th at Summit Grove in Stuart, September 17th at GCH Clinics in Panora, and September 24th at the Adair Community Center. All meetings will begin at 6:30pm.
