The 2025 Kid Captains for the Iowa Hawkeye Football home games were announced before the season, and one is from the KKRF 107.9FM listening area.

On October 18th for the Iowa versus Penn State game, seven year old Micah Norby of Greenfield will be the Kid Captain. According to the release on the 2025 Kid Captains, Norby was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy after his family noticed he was lagging behind in sports. A new gene therapy was found that should help slow progression of the disease, but it needed to be introduced before Norby turned six. There were several delays caused by unexpected illness and insurance issues, but the treatment was finally approved and administered the day before his sixth birthday. Norby was the first boy to receive the treatment at Stead Family Children’s Hospital outside of clinical trials.
