With harvest season coming up, one entity in Greene County is asking for farmers to contribute their crops to a worthy cause.
The Greene County Medical Center Foundation is participating in the Gifts of Grain program, where a portion of a farmer’s harvest can be donated as a way to assist with services at the medical center in Jefferson. According to the Foundation, grain donations are taken to a local elevator and the Foundation is named as the recipient for that drop-off. Foundation Director Nancy Houska says the proceeds are then given to the medical center to support the vital healthcare services.
Houska adds that farmers are resilient, dedicated and have a deep commitment to their communities, and by partnering with this program, you can turn your hard work into a gift that supports the health and well-being of Greene County.
