The 2025 Adair County Fair is long finished at this point in the year, but there was a special collection started during it.

Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that the Pride of Iowa Cooking Competition has been a staple at the fair for over two decades. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this year was extra special.

“With the 25th anniversary for Pride of Iowa, we put together a cookbook of all past recipes from the last 25 years that we could find. And those are available for you to download on the Adair County website. Check it out. Lots of great recipes.”

Savage mentions that the cookbook contains all the recipes they could find from the Pride of Iowa Cooking Competition, and past participants may be able to find their own recipes in the book. She adds that to find the cookbook, visit the Extension’s website, a link to which can be found here.
