A thunderstorm warning prompted live coverage in Greene County late Monday evening.
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team started broadcasting live on KGRA 98.9FM after the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Greene County at 10:24pm. The main hazards with the storm included 60 miles per hour winds and quarter-sized hail.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office did not report any hail or immediate property damage during the warning, which was allowed to expire at 11:15pm. Weatherology Meteorologists reported the speed of the storm that was moving at 15mph, would possibly cause periods of flash flooding, especially in low-laying areas.
Two Raccoon Valley Radio staff, along with Weatherology and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the live coverage of our Severe Weather Action Team. We bring live coverage anytime there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie Counties. We continue with our live coverage until the storms drop below severe levels or move out of the coverage area.
