Officials responded to two unrelated traffic incidents at Greene County High School Tuesday morning.

According to Greene County School District Superintendent Brett Abbotts, one of the incidents involved a school bus with students and the other crash was between two personal vehicles. He says the families of the students that were involved were contacted directly, while the school nurses checked out the students for any injuries, which he states there were no injuries to the students on the bus nor to the bus driver. Abbotts explains that they are working with the Jefferson Police Department with the bus-related accident and he believes the officers are investigating the student-involved crash that happened closer to US Highway 30.

He says they are following the district protocols and policies as it relates to student-involved vehicle accidents.

Abbotts assures everyone that these situations were handled with care and precaution and he is asking for the community’s continued support in promoting safety for everyone, which includes additional caution and patience for both student drivers and school buses that share the road.
