The AC/GC Chargers hosted the Pleasantville Trojans last night, and won the match 3-1.
Head Coach Caley Vaughan says that the first set was a game of serves, with senior Camdyn Richter putting up four points right away, and fellow senior racking up 11 when she came up as the next to serve, which included three aces and put the team up 16-2. Juniors Stella Largent and Ilana Baumert were both also able to get some points off serves, and Largent unofficially recorded six kills. The Chargers won set one 25-8.
Vaughan mentions that the second set was the one that AC/GC dropped, with both teams showing strong serving, and Pleasantville taking the set 27-25. She adds that despite the loss, Largent racked up another 12 kills, with Richter recording four of her own.
The third set was one the team took an early lead on according to Vaughan, as they won 25-14. She shares that Baumert served four aces in a row, with some strong plays by junior Olivia Mahaffey at the net to keep the ball alive for the Chargers. The final set was won by AC/GC 25-13, with the entire team serving well once again according to Vaughan. She says that Nora Langgaard, Largent, Richter, Littler and Savannah Akers were all able to record kills as the Chargers won the night.
