The Adel Chamber of Commerce is welcoming in the fall season with an inaugural event happening along the Raccoon River Valley Trail on Friday.
Chamber President Erin Milroy shares that the organization is hosting the first ever “Adel Hay Day,” in hopes to raise money for the Bridge Us Back Campaign to repair the fire damage on the lighted trail bridge in Adel that happened in May of this year, which has a goal from the Dallas County Conservation of $896,000. She notes that the event will include four stations, starting at the Adel City Hall parking lot, then at Rotary Plaza, the Lighted Bridge, and the RRVT Trailhead on 18th Street.
Milroy describes that each station will have a variety of fall activities for the whole family with food, games, face painting, a bounce house, hayrack rides, and more. She adds that individuals six years and older who pre-register will be able to get a free drink ticket and a pumpkin to decorate to take home. Milroy realizes it’s football season, but would love lots of people to show up to the Hay Day.
“We’re just encouraging everybody that can show up to join us. It’s an away football game that night. I know people will still be cheering on the Tigers, but we’re also looking for people to come that evening as well.”
Milroy details the event will run from 2-7pm on Friday and that people can pre-register for $8, while day-of sign ups will be available for $10. For more information or to register, click here.
