The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board approved a payroll change notice for Caleb Rasmussen as the new Assistant to the County Engineer, and a payroll change notice for Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Jeremy Cooper. They also approved issuing a new comprehensive plan with the help of Region XII Council of Governments representative Chris Whitaker, as the previous one was done in 2010. The Board will decide a timeline and sign a contract with Whitaker in their meeting next week.
The Board then heard an update from Guthrie County Sheriff Matt Harmann, who shared that his department has been cutting down on overtime usage, and working to reduce compensation time as well. He added that service calls were projected to be up from what they were last year, and that their response time has been improving as well, thanks to a fully staffed dispatch team.
The Board also approved the County Road P28 project as recommended by Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern. The project will widen the shoulders of the road from Stuart north to Monteith Road, then extra maintenance will go form Monteith Road north to Panora. Sebern also shared on an updated pay structure he would like to implement for the Secondary Roads Department. The Board then approved their list of voting representatives for the Iowa State Association of Counties.
