The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Cross Country Teams will be participating in their sixth meet of the season tonight, making the short drive north to Perry.
The Tigers have had over a week off with their last race being on September 23rd in Newton, where the girls won first place and the boys notched second behind Grinnell. ADM’s top three girls in that race were sophomore Elliotte Von Roden, junior Allie Eggleston, and junior Lydia Georgick, who captured third, fourth, and sixth place. Tiger Girls Head Coach Steve Brown shares the message he’s pushing on his runners at this point in the season.
“One thing that I try to emphasize as we go forward into these higher pressure meets is to just let the girls know that their value to the team goes way above and beyond how they do in a single race. It’s really important that they understand that in the end, it’s just running.”
The meet will be held at the Perry Golf and Country Club featuring 10 other schools. The varsity boys race will be first at 4:50pm, followed by the varsity girls at 5:15pm, then junior varsity races afterwards.
