
Perry swimming traveled to the Ames Invite on Saturday as they claimed fifth place. Aleah Karolus was one of the top performers at the meet with two golds.
The Ames Invite saw eight schools compete. The Jayettes sat out the diving portion, yet scored 186 points. That was good enough for fifth.
Karolus led the team with victories in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. The junior swam a fast enough time in the 100 to qualify for state (54.45) Karolus has now qualified for the 50 and 100 Freestyle for the State Meet in November. Ellie Hughes added fourth in the 100 Breaststroke.
Medley Relay
Kilee Hughes, Ellie Hughes, Cali Hernandez Aleah Karolus, 6th place, 2:02.12, which was a season best relay time. Kilee Hughes had a personal best time on the backstroke leg of the relay, of 34.49, dropping -1.57 seconds.
