The AC/GC Chargers volleyball team hosted senior night last night, and came out on top of the Ogden Bulldogs.

Head Coach Caley Vaughan says the team made sure Senior Night ended on a high note, celebrating their seniors’ final home game, and beating Ogden in three sets. The Chargers won the first set 25-20, the second 25-18, and the final set of the night ended with a score of 26-24.

Vaughan mentions everyone played great, with Stella Largent and Camdyn Richter having many hits and kills, along with middles Savannah Akers and Nora Langgaard both having some great hits and blocks. Senior setter Becca Littler set well for the team and had a kill as well, with junior Olivia Mahaffey having some great hits and kills on the right side. Junior libero Ilana Baumert and Kailee Kautzky hustled all over the court and passed the ball great as well. Vaughan explains Meranda Gruber served really well for the Chargers too. She adds that the gym was packed for senior night and everyone was cheering loud.

Vaughan shares that the last set was such an exciting thing to be a part of, that she will remember it forever. She says that AC/GC was down 10-17 and she took a time out, where Richter said something in the huddle about getting back in it and playing the team’s game their way. Richter then went back out on the court and put down six kills, almost in a row evening the score a bit more, 17-19. Vaughan mentions the Chargers had a lot of great plays back and forth, and eventually the score was tied at 23. Here, Richter put down 3 more kills in a row and the Chargers ended up winning 26-24.
