The #12 Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team traveled to Marshalltown on Friday night to face off against the Bobcats. DCG came away with the victory, defeating Marshalltown 31-10 to advance to 5-2 so far this season.

The Bobcats struck first, being held to a field goal in the first quarter. With just over two minutes left in the first, the Mustang defense responded, scooping up a fumble to score the first touchdown of the game. Now ahead 7-3, Dylan Lackland notched in a field goal setting the halftime score to 10-3 in favor of DCG. Coming back from halftime, Ethan Carlson scored a rushing touchdown, and Chase Engel ended the night with two passing touchdowns finding Jackson Reis in the end zone in the fourth. Marshalltown punched through the end zone with one second left in the game, giving DCG the 31-10 victory.

DCG advances to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Mustangs are at home next week, playing host to the Ames Little Cyclones. Kick off is scheduled for 7pm with coverage on KDLS2 beginning at 6pm.
