The Jayettes gave their home crowd plenty to cheer about Monday night, sweeping all three matches on Dan Marburger Court to claim the title at their own Jayette Invitational.

Perry opened the evening with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Saydel, grinding out close set victories of 25-23 and 21-18.  Momentum carried into the second match, where the Jayettes cruised past Des Moines Hoover in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-12.

The final test of the night came against Des Moines North, and it didn’t start the way Perry wanted.  The Jayettes dropped the opening set 21-13, but responded with a strong rally to take the next two sets 21-10 and 15-11, completing the sweep and closing out a perfect night.

The three-match run marks Perry’s longest winning streak of the season and lifts their record to 5-20 overall.

The Jayettes will look to carry their momentum into the postseason tune-up this Saturday, as they wrap up the regular season at the Woodward-Granger Invitational.
