Paton-Churdan traveled to Newell last night and faced Twin Lakes Conference member Newell-Fonda in the opening round of Class 1A Region 1 high school volleyball. Coach Nikki Uebel’s Rockets lost in three sets by scores of 19-25, 16-25, 14-25. The Rockets end the season with four wins and 13 losses while the Mustangs improved to 15-12.

Senior Mia Russell recorded four kills, six digs, and one block. Alivya Smith, a junior, had nine digs and two kills with her sister, freshman Edynn Smith, at two ace serves, one kill, and one assist. Junior Maggie Reed also had one ace serve and four digs.

Uebel completes her first season as a high school volleyball coach. Madison Roper and Russell are the only seniors on the P-C team, so the coach sees a bright future for the Rockets.
