The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department has two activities coming up for the next no school day with the Greene County School District.
JPRD Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says they are partnering again with Fudge’s Flowers and Gifts for the Pumpkin Floral Design class this coming Monday. He states that there are two sections, with the first being from 2-2:45pm and the next one is 3-3:45pm at the Greene County Community Center for kindergarten through eighth graders. The cost to participate is $25 for community center members and $30 for non-members.
Pohlmeyer points out that another activity this coming Monday is for first through sixth graders with a Kickball Game.
“This is a rather new one that I’m pretty excited about. So in our past programs, we’ve been kind of opening up the idea of kickball, and it seems like a lot of kids are enjoying it. And I know, personally I’ve always liked it as a kid, it was one of my favorite pastimes. So, I would like to see how this turnout goes and maybe give them some new avenues of different, maybe not sports, but activities to do.”
The Kickball Game takes place from 1:30-2:30pm also at the community center. The cost to participate is $10 for community center members and $15 for non-members. Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or click here to sign up for either program.
