2024 Greene County High School graduate Nathan Behne (Bay-nee) was named the GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week in football following his Upper Iowa University’s 39-2 win over Southwest Baptist (Mo.) on Oct. 18 in Fayette. The Peacocks improved to 3-1 in the conference and 5-2 overall while SWB fell to 3-4, 2-3.

Behne is the kicker and punter for the Peacocks and he excelled in both areas on Saturday. The former Greene County High School All-State kicker booted the two longest field goals of his college career at 49 and 51 yards. He punted three times for a 53.7 average including a 64 yarder. Behne leads the GLVC in punting average at 44.6 yards per boot. He is the son of former Jefferson residents Carl and Allison Behne.
