
The Bock Family Foundation recently held its fall grant ceremony, as over 25 projects in Dallas County are helping being funded.
The organization had its presentation at the Perry Public Library on Monday, where Bock Family Foundation Executive Director Scott Finneseth announced that $125,395 in grants would be split between 29 businesses in Dallas County.
Some of the organizations and projects include $10,000 for the Dallas County Conservation Board to repair the Adel Lighted Bridge on the Raccoon River Valley Trail (RRVT), $10,000 towards Perry’s Academic, Cultural, Enrichment, Services (P.A.C.E.S.) Before and After School program, $2,500 for the Girls Scouts of Greater Iowa, and $2,000 towards the Minburn Area Firefighters Association.
Finneseth concluded that since the foundation began in 2002, the organization has given away close to $3 million in grant donations. The full list of recipients can be found below.
- Dallas County Conservation Board: $10,000 towards Restore Adel Lighted Bridge on RRVT
- Perry Volunteer Fire Department: $7,500 toward fittings for hydrants and nozzles for new fire truck
- Perry Parks & Rec Department: $3,000 toward equipment for Child Watch Room
- Dallas County Health Department: $1,625 toward education for P.A.C.E.S. students
- Perry Public School District: $300 toward the purchase of a pitch com device for the high school varsity baseball program
- P.A.C.E.S.: $10,000 toward the Before and After School Program
- New Opportunities Incorporated: $3,000 toward toys for Perry Project
- Pegasus Incorporated: $2,500 toward the assistance in payment for the programming coordinator and editor
- Perry Police Association: $10,000 toward a Public Safety Response Kit for the drone program
- Everybody Wins! Iowa: $7,500 toward the Power Read Program at Perry Elementary
- Perry Area Emergency Food Council: $6,000 toward meat
- Crossroads Church: $1,750 toward Compassionate Care Ministry
- Dallas County Hospital: $3,000 toward the Blessing Box
- DCH Family Medicine: $2,500 toward protective glass layers to additional patient facing areas of the hospital
- DCH Foundation: $7,000 toward modernizing the Outpatient Heart and Lung Care Center at the hospital
- Perry Area Child Development Center: $7,500 toward scholarships
- Raccoon River Pet Rescue: $5,000 toward spay/neuter/vetting services
- Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States: $1,500 toward the painting of a mural of the flag raising at Iwo Jima
- Perry Girls Softball Association: $2,300 toward a new pitching machine and balls
- Perry Little League: $8,000 toward replacing batting nets
- Perry Baseball Club Incorporated: $1,000 toward the indoor batting facility including blacktops, radar, catches gear, j bands, and ball buckets
- Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa: $2,500 toward the Perry-Spring Valley Township Girls Scouts
- Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy: $7,500 toward replacing furnishings for the common living, treatment, and client spaces
- Woodward Public Library: $1,920 towards Hotspots
- Woodward Community Food Pantry: $3,000 toward the purchase of a chest freezer and food supplies
- Minburn Area Firefighters Association: $2,000 toward helmets and boots
- Osborne American Legion Post 99: $2,500 toward the repair of masonry wall and renovate a bathroom
- DeSoto Volunteer Fire and EMS: $3,000 toward tables and chairs for the training room
- Raccoon River Preschool in Adel: $2,000 toward the Naturescape Playground Project
