The leader of the Dallas County Hospital (DCH) is being recognized for her exemplary work from the Iowa Hospital Association.

According to DCH Public Relations of Marketing and Foundation Director Tom Harmsen, Chief Executive Officer Angela Mortoza received the American Hospital Association’s Grassroots Champion Award at a conference in Des Moines. 

Harmsen details that the award celebrates individuals who demonstrate outstanding advocacy on behalf of hospitals at the local, state, and national levels, and credits Mortoza’s commitment to building strong relationships with leaders within Dallas County. 

Earlier this year, Mortoza was named the “CEO to Know” by Becker’s Healthcare and has been in her position for the past 10 years, and currently serves on the Perry Economic Development Committee.
