The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Volleyball Team is gearing up for the Class 4A Regionals in Adel tonight with a match versus a familiar opponent in North Polk.
The Tigers and Comets will square off for the second time this season, as they both represent the Raccoon River Conference. The first match was played over a month ago on September 16th in Adel, where ADM completed a sweep in three sets. The Tigers won the matches 25-22, 25-19, and 25-17 to earn their 15 win at the time. Head Coach Trevor Irwin says he’s always analyzing past games to develop ways to improve going forward.
“We’re looking at just how can we make sure that we are advancing in our skills from a couple of weeks ago to now. As good teams become great teams, we are (paying) more attention to detail, more attention to our communication styles, (and) how can we continue to improve from week to week.”
The Tigers concluded the regular season with an overall record of 22-8 (7-1 RRC), while the Comets are sitting at 20-14 (5-2 RRC) and played in the Region 4 First Round game against Des Moines Hoover on Tuesday, picking up a three-set victory. Tonight’s match is taking place from the North Gym at ADM High School in Adel at 7pm.
