
It’ll be a local battle on Tuesday as the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs face off against the ADM Tigers for the regional championship, with the winner advancing to the Class 4A state volleyball tournament.
On Thursday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs faced off against the Winterset Huskies for the regional semifinals. The Huskies battled, but DCG secured the 3-0 sweep to advance to the regional championship. Anna Jackson kept the Mustang defense in the fight in the first and third set, helping keep DCG ahead for a 25-19 and 25-20 victories. In the second set, DCG came out with a vengeance, as Maggie Leifker had seven kills to help push the Mustangs ahead 25-7, with Leifker having the final kill of the match to secure the victory in set number three.
The Mustangs have one final test on Tuesday, as DCG will face off against the ADM Tigers for the regional championship. First serve is scheduled for 7pm with the winner advancing to the Class 4A state tournament.
