Although the Panorama Panthers cross country teams were not able to qualify for state, head coach Greg Thompson praised both teams for their continued improvement and dedication throughout the cross country season.
Head coach Thompson also gave praise to the new cross country runners and freshmen, in particular Olivia Beaudet, who continued to improve throughout the season.
“Throughout the entire season she just continued to work and work and work, and improve and improve. About a month ago, we pulled her off to the side and said, “hey I know you have a goal of getting your name up on the top 15 list. We got to see that a little more effort in practice, and she listened, she took that advice and became one of our leaders in practice as far as the effort that she was giving and it obviously paid off. Running a 22:11 that was probably close to a 30 second PR, just missed qualifying. We had to be top 10, she was 13th, so she really got after it and you could tell.”
Coach Thompson is excited to see continued growth from both Panorama cross country teams but has told the team to take two weeks to themselves to rest and recover.
