The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

The board held a county space needs and planning workshop, where Finance Director Rob Tietz requested to transfer the Facilities Department to the current Engineer’s Building at 415 River Street to have more room to operate. He indicated that the County Engineer’s Office would continue to utilize the space until their new building is created. The board agreed to go through with moving the Facilities Department by the end of the year.

Next, Farnsworth Group Architect Principal Kristofer Orth presented the board with project delivery options for the newly proposed Dallas County Emergency Medical Services Station in Adel. He noted that the first course of action was the board to choose from a Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), Construction Manager Advisor, or a General Contractor to lead the design method. Orth said that a CMAR has been used for the development of the new Administration Building, the Sheriff’s Office Evidence Storage Building and Firing Range, plus the proposed Criminal Court Building. Following a short discussion, the board approved hiring a CMAR for the project.

Other items on the agenda that were approved included a Secondary Roads Department request to begin the bid letting process on February 17th, 2026 for the County Road F90 repaving project, a resolution for a bottom dump trailer purchase from Iowa Trailer Manufacturing Company LLC, out of Storm Lake, for $89,020, an archives access request from former Dallas County Supervisor Mark Hanson during regular business hours, then four operating transfers.

Those included $2,445,300 from the Rural Basic Services Fund to the Secondary Roads Fund; $729,553 from the General Basic Fund to the Secondary Roads Funds; $480,000 from the Rural Basic Fund to the Secondary Roads Fund; and $2,934,547 from the General Basic Fund to the Conservation Fund.

The meeting ended in a closed session to discuss employee performance reviews for the Operations Director and an Administrative Coordinator.
