A local grant application in Greene County is now open.

The Greene County Community Foundation (GCCF) is now accepting grant applications for 2026. GCCF received a record amount of money requests this year, totaling $402,292 for 30 applications, of which they awarded $251,409 to 21 projects. The funding that GCCF gave out in grants came from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation (GGCGC) of $175,000 and the remaining $76,407 was from their endowment fund.

GCCF welcomes grant applications of up to $35,000, with any amount over that to be applied to GGCGC. The Greene County Community Foundation has awarded over $2.6 million in 20 years. The online application can be found by clicking here and those must be submitted by February 13, 2026 for consideration. Completed applications can be mailed to Greene County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 85, Jefferson, IA 50129 or dropped off at Journey Financial in Jefferson during normal business hours.
