The 27th Annual Jefferson Rotary Charity Auction is one week away.
Rotary Club President Sam Harding says before the event there was a pre-auction where seven items were sold online for close to $3,000. He explains why their organization pushed to do something like this.
“Well, we’ve always been restricted on the kinds of items we can have on our auction because they have to be events that are after we have our auction, so we could sell them. So, we were missing out on football games, all of those kinds of things, and a lot of concerts, and all kinds of stuff. So we said, ‘Well, let’s expand on that.’ And we called it our ‘Pre-Auction Auction.’”
He notes that the silent auction will begin tomorrow online and will end about 8:15pm the night of the live auction next Friday, November 21st. Harding points out that during the actual event, the dinner will be served by 6:30pm at the Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson, followed by the live auction. Harding reveals the featured live auction item that is the biggest trip that Jefferson Rotary has ever offered.
“We have a trip for four to Disney World for four nights, and it includes all of your park hopper tickets, and staying at the resort itself, all of the transportation inside the resort is included. We’re getting this through a travel agency in Ankeny that is run by a Rotarian in Ankeny, and they have a person on their staff that’s their Disney specialist and knows all the ways to make Disney World great.”
Tickets to the 27th Annual Charity Auction are $50 each or a table of eight is $400. The doors will open at 5:30pm next Friday and the dinner features prime rib or rosemary chicken as the entrees. Click here to purchase tickets or to check out the silent auction items.
