The Dallas County Hospital has been hard at work on remodeling several facilities, and will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony along with open house tours on Wednesday.

DCH Public Relations of Marketing and Foundation Director Tom Harmsen shares that the organization has contributed time remodeling their Surgery Locker Room area, Cardiopulmonary Department, Ambulatory and Senior Life Solutions Center.

Harmsen details that all the departments are expanding their spaces in order to accommodate for the rate that medicine continues to evolve. He believes that DCH is properly equipped to help patients in almost any situation.

“We strive to be a leading medical facility in the area, and we have the right staff, we have the right equipment, we have the right facilities, and we’ve right sized some of these areas to meet patient demands and then also modernized for flow purposes and efficiency. Plus staff and patient safety is top of mind. We’ve certainly factored safety elements and considerations into these projects.”

Harmsen says the ribbon cutting is taking place inside the Dallas County Hospital, 610 10th Street, in Perry, including a presentation by Chief Executive Officer Angela Mortoza and light refreshments at noon, followed by tours of the four facilities from 12:20-2pm.
