Panorama Activities Director Bruce Dahlhauser reveals the procedure of preparing for a home sporting event.

Dalhauser explains that the state of Iowa will rotate the location of where different activities are taking place each year, and says it’s important to know when it’s your turn to host an event. He indicates that he works with the High School Athletic Association to determine that nothing conflicts with each other, as well as understanding which schools will be attending a home event. Dalhauser provides the next steps in the process.

“Once you have all of that (information), you’re kind of planned out, then it’s just a matter of organizing yourself a couple of weeks to a month in advance, so you know what information needs to be sent out to those schools (and) when to start reaching out to officials.”

He notes that all the activities will go on a calendar, then will be sorted out with enough time to identify if certain events need to be switched around, instead of dealing with potential issues when they arise.
