Greene County RamsHomecoming is a celebration not only for high school students and the football team, but it also involves the community.

Greene County Activities Booster Club Member Laura Ballard says they will be hosting two community events during the homecoming football game against the Humboldt Wildcats on Friday, October 3rd.

She states that between the freshman and varsity games, all youth are invited to a free Kids’ Fun Zone on the north end of Linduska Field.  There will be games like crazy concessions costume races, a tire throw, sack races and a field goal kicking competition.  The Ram cheerleaders will also paint faces for the kids and the middle school football team will help volunteer to run the activities.

Then during the game, the Booster Club will once again sponsor its Yard Line Challenge.  Ballard notes that for $10, people can purchase every five-yard lines for a chance to win $30.  At the end of the first, second and third quarters, whoever is the closest to their guess will win the money.  Yardline purchases must be made before the start of the varsity game at 7:30pm at the Booster Club tent by the west gate entrance.

All money raised by the Booster Club goes to support educational and extracurricular activities and programs at the Greene County School District.
