The AC/GC Chargers wrestling team is ready for everything to get going as they’re in their second week of practice.
Junior Ryder Cline says that he’s looking forward to just getting back on the mat and competing once again. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that with more guys ready to go this season as compared to last season, the team is looking to hit the ground running and compete well.
“It’ll definitely help, especially early in the year, getting those wins against some of the schools you go against first, like Nodaway (Valley). They’re definitely a big target for the beginning of the year. And getting everyone down to weight right away will definitely help in tournaments, especially when it comes to like districts, getting quality wins against good opponents.”
Cline mentions that with the experience of going to the state tournament last season, it’s really helpful in allowing him and the other returners from the tournament to work with the other members of the team to get them prepared for big matches. He adds that the meet he’s looking forward to most at this time is the first one of the season at East Union, where one of the teams they get to take on is Nodaway Valley.
