Adel-DeSoto-Minburn junior cross country runner Allie Eggleston pinpoints the main area that draws her back to running, despite the challenge.

Eggleston shares that she didn’t always possess the desire to run, but was invited by a friend to try it, then she quickly fell in love with it. She says that her coaches have helped shape her mindset when it comes to hard workouts, because it can be easy to become discouraged about it, but Coach Steve Brown and Sara Schwertfeger keep the atmosphere positive, which in turns gives the girls confidence. Eggleston reveals that running brings difficulties, but the pros outweigh the cons.

“Just completing it, you feel really good about yourself because it’s a hard thing to do. But especially after like PR’ing after a meet, or just feeling really good during a race, it’s very addicting.”

ADM qualified to the state meet as a team this year, where they placed 11th. Eggleston personally finished 58th overall with a time of 20 minutes and 13 seconds.
