This is the 24th year that head coach Joel Rankin has donned the red and silver of Dallas Center-Grimes and he could not be more pleased about his journey.

Throughout his time with the Mustangs, Rankin has emphasized an intense play style, with a quick pace, and lots of ball movement. More important than any of these watermarks of a Joel Rankin led team, he thinks it’s most important “to develop quality young men.”

In preparation for games, Rankin knows he’s not much fun to be around because of his focus on winning. After 30 years in the coaching business with Waterloo Columbus, Urbandale, Johnston, and now the Mustangs; he knows what it takes to win. 

With DCG boys basketball opening their season on Tuesday night, Mustangs head coach Joel Rankin is looking forward to another strong season on the court.
