West Central Valley (WCV) Basketball senior Macy Long details how this year’s team displays more than just athleticism.
Long shares that sports were a huge component in her household at a young age, as she started playing basketball when she was in third grade. She says that she has learned to never take criticism personally, but to see it as a growing opportunity to get better. Long credits her coaches and parents for developing her IQ when she’s on the floor, and being able to make the right decisions in crucial situations. She notes that most teams may focus on the Wildcats for athleticism, but describes that there is much more depth.
“I feel like we’re probably the most fundamentally skilled this team has been for WCV in a while, (because) usually we’re just athletic.”
West Central Valley is 0-2 on the season and will gear up to travel over to Ogden High School tomorrow seeking their first win against the 0-2 Bulldogs, with the game starting at 6:15pm.
