The Mustangs enter winter break with a record of 4-2 and wrap up their pre-Christmas portion of the schedule, winning three of their last four games.

After struggling to find their identity on the offensive and defensive sides of the court, DCG got rolling in Newton against the Cardinals, where sophomore guard Chase Perrin dropped 30 points on eight threes. The team rallied around Perrin and had its best offensive performance of the season, dropping 84 points on the Cardinals.

The challenge for DCG would be last Friday night at home against Oskaloosa. Could they keep up the good play? The answer was yes as Perrin again led the group with 21 points on 8/16 from the field to lead all scorers. Although the Mustangs got outscored 15-8 in the fourth quarter, DCG pulled away in the end thanks to clutch free throws.

With a 4-2 record and two monumental wins in conference, the Mustangs head into their break feeling good about their wins but knowing there’s a lot to clean up.
