On Monday, the Perry Bluejays wrestling team traveled to Nevada High School for triangular action against wrestlers from Nevada and Greene County. The Bluejays split the decision, defeating Greene County as a team 39-31, but fell to Nevada 45-33.

Christ Tolle found success against both teams, defeating Greene County’s Joel Duckett by tech fall, 15-0. Tolle carried that momentum into his match against Nevada, defeating Dayten Pille in 2:39 by fall. While facing off against Greene County, three Bluejays won by tech fall, including Tolle, Jesus Cerna, and Drake Bridges to help give Perry the victory over Greene County 39-31.

Against Nevada, Hayden Splendore also found success alongside Tolle, winning his match by fall in only 53 seconds. With some victories by tech fall and major decision by Brady Welch and Ivan Willett for Perry and a victory by fall for Townes Wilson, Perry stayed in the fight against Nevada but unfortunately fell 45-33.

The Bluejays return to action on Saturday, traveling to Ames High School for the Mendenhall Invite with the action set to begin at 10am.
