Work will continue on the Perry Elementary School renovation project this spring.

The Perry School Board approved bids totaling around $7 million for the project during a special meeting last month. The bids were awarded to Badding Construction for general trades and Drees Construction for mechanical and electrical work.

Superintendent Clark Wicks says that work will continue in February or March with the preschool rooms and the renovation of the elementary office. He adds that once school is out, work will then start on the renovation of the kindergarten, first and second grade rooms.

“Everybody is going to have to adapt to the whole construction process, but we’ll keep an eye on the prize and that is to have a renovated school that will look even more sharp. We’ll have more rooms and it will be a real positive thing for Perry Community Schools.”

Wicks details that work will continue throughout the summer with the goal to have the initial projects completed by August 15. He adds that the remaining renovation projects would be completed by the summer of 2027.
