Jim Peters will be recognized for his 38 years of service to the City of Adel during a reception tomorrow.
The reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. in the Adel Library Community Room. The City of Adel invites the public to the open house to celebrate Peters’ years of service.
He was first elected to the Adel City Council in 1987. Peters served on the council for four years before deciding to run for mayor. He was elected as mayor in 1991 and took office in 1992.
Peters recently received a Key to the City from Mayor Timothy Crannell during Monday’s Adel City Council meeting. He was also awarded an Ambassador for Life plaque by Dennis Leininger and Council Member James West.
