A Greene County non-profit organization is hosting its annual fundraiser to help with an important cause.
Petra Dawson with the Pony Express Riders of Greene County will be having its bingo, silent auction and raffle fundraiser on Saturday night at the Jefferson VFW Hall on the downtown square. She notes that the doors will open at 5:30pm for a social time and bingo will start at 6:30pm. Dawson points out the silent auction will once again feature locally donated items, typically between four to ten and she suggests that winners should be present, since those will be announced towards the end of the event around 9:30pm.
Dawson states that a new addition is having a raffle this year, which will be mainly gift cards that were donated by local businesses. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5, with the first place raffle prize being a $105 in gift cards, along with a bath gift set and a tote; and then the value decreases with each passing raffle. She is hoping to raise more than $1,200 from last year, with all proceeds going towards their mission of supporting individuals with special needs at Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines.
Dawson is appreciative of everyone’s contributions to their fundraiser and for everyone that attends it, as well as the cooperation with the Jefferson VFW Post #9599.
