Later this week will begin several commercial pesticide applicator training course in Jefferson.
Greene County ISU Extension Director Jeff Lamoureux says the first one is this Wednesday from 9-11:30am for Ag Pest Control, which will be held at the Extension Office in Jefferson. He notes that the next one is next Wednesday with Seed Treatment, which is also from 9-11:30am, and Ornamental and Turfgrass Pest Control is scheduled for March 4th. Lamoureux explains that each of these are continuing instructional courses for re-certification to apply pesticides commercially.
Lamoureux stresses the need to pre-register for these training sessions.
“That way we can kind of be ready for them. There’s a certificate that they earn. As they sit through it (the training) we can kind of have those prepared and ready to go. We will take some walk-ins but we are limited (on) space a little bit, so it’s best if they call ahead so we can be prepared.”
Each session is $45 and to register for the classes, contact the Extension Office at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
