Contractors continue to make progress in Jefferson as the downtown restoration project moves forward.

This week sidewalks are being installed on the business side of the square, starting with the west side.  As a result, outside water shut-offs, or curb stops, have been relocated to approximately 6 feet from the front of each building.  This allows room for the 2 food wide brick banding along the outside edge of the new sidewalks.

Wicks Construction estimates that each side of the sidewalk will take about one week to replace.
