The city of Jefferson could soon have a new fast food restaurant.

City Administrator Scott Peterson confirms that McDonald’s has submitted a building permit for the former Hastings Funeral Home, along Iowa Highway 4, located at 403 North Elm Street. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio once an individual or a company submits a building permit, it is reviewed administratively, along with the site plans, and after the purchaser has closed on the property, the permit can then be issued to that new property owner.
