Adel-DeSoto-Minburn senior Cole Darling recently won a state title for the second year in a row.

Darling participated in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 2A Individual State Bowling Championship on February 25 in Waterloo.

He was ranked fourth of out eight individuals and knocked out the fifth-ranked bowler in the first round before defeating the top-ranked bowler in the second round.

In the championship round, Darling went against Slayton Schroeder from Le Mars, defeating him 237-196 to be named the Class 2A Individual Champion for the second consecutive year. Darling was the lone representative for the Tigers last season and ended the year with an individual title, which was the first in school history.

Darling’s individual performance came one day after ADM Boys Bowling competed as a team at the state tournament, where they finished as runners-up in the second year for the school’s program.
