The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors awarded a contract for the County Road P28 Pavement Rehabilitation project during their first meeting of March.
The contract went to Henningson Construction, who submitted a bid of $5,972,266.47. Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern says that the work will take place during this construction season, most likely over the summer, and that it will require road closure for the project.
“Official detour will be over to Highway 25 and around. With some staging of the construction, if the contractor chooses to do so, the Redfield Road may be able to be used. And of course, locals will find their way and navigate around but the official will be over to Highway 25 on White Pole Road and Highway 44 back to Panora.”
Sebern mentions that the project will break up the current road surface on P28 from north of Stuart to Montieth Road, settle that material into the roadbed, and repave over it with a layer of asphalt. He adds that the road will also be widened to a total width of 26 feet, instead of its current width of 22 feet.
