The Webb House hosted the most recent Java and Juice program with Jefferson Matters.

Jim North is the founder of the Webb House and he said to the crowd on Friday that 29 years ago, a vision became reality where there was a safe environment for middle school aged kids could go and hang out, play games and have fun, while also having adult chaperones on site for supervision. He highlighted some of the games that were inside the facility and the outside activities the kids could do twice per week during the school year.

North also mentioned the overall goal was to have the Webb House be self-sustaining. He noted that it was until last year when they had to replace the water heater and repair the elevator to the lower level. North pointed out the air conditioning and heating unit needs to be replaced this year for a cost of $15,000.

To help kick off the fundraising effort, Jefferson Kiwanis Club donated $500 and Beta Tau Delta gave $600 on Friday. North added if anyone wants to help support the project, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church or people can contact him as well.
