A Stuart native had an interesting opportunity in recent months.

Singer Caroline Doud, a West Central Valley graduate, got the call to be part of the recorded auditions for American Idol, and in November met the judges in Nashville. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what it was like to do the audition.

“Pretty crazy when you’re in front of people that you’ve seen a thousand times online, or maybe you’ve even been to a concert of theirs, but really meeting them one-to-one and knowing that they are there to focus on what you’re about to do for them. That’s… It was a crazy feeling.”

Doud mentions that she received her golden ticket, and made it to Hollywood Week, but was eliminated before the top 30. She adds that it was a great experience, and that for anyone else who thinks they are interested in trying something like it, go ahead and do it, because unless you do, you’ll never know what all you’re capable of.
