Guthrie Center Hospital (GCH) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the $46 million renovation project they have begun.
The event began with a welcoming statement from GCH Foundation Director Dennis Flanery, along with statements from important partners in getting the project going. Those partners included GCH Board of Trustees member Mike Underwood, Guthrie County Board of Supervisors Chair Steve Smith, GCH Chief Executive Officer Chris Stipe, and US Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Iowa Mike Sexton. Flannery gave a few closing remarks, then the groundbreaking commenced. In his statements, Stipe shared that patience will be a key part of the project, as it should take roughly two and a half years to bring to completion.
