As winter sports fully transition to spring sports at Perry High School, students have been taking advantage of the time in between seasons improving their strength and conditioning with Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Scott Pierce.

Junior Kierrian Newman is one of those athletes, as Newman cemented his name in Perry School history as the record holder for heaviest trap bar deadlift. Newman cleared 720 pounds to secure his place at the top of the leaderboard.

Only a junior, Kierrian looks to continue to improve and get stronger while his younger brother, freshmen Keldrick Newman follows in his footsteps as 2nd in the trap bar deadlift category, lifting 635 pounds.
