A Blizzard Warning has been issued for most of Iowa, including the Raccoon Valley Radio area.
According to the National Weather Service, Greene, Guthrie and Dallas County are under a Blizzard Warning until 7am tomorrow morning. The National Weather Service says those three counties could see between one to three inches of snowfall that will mainly start this afternoon, preceded by rainfall.
National Weather Service Meteorologists estimate strong north, northwest winds between 30 to 40 miles per hour, gusting as high as 65 mph, which will lead to blizzard conditions and possible whiteout conditions on the roadways. The National Weather Service has also issued a High Wind Warning for the three-county area as well. Meteorologists are also anticipating frigid temperatures to follow overnight, dropping to as low as 20 degrees below zero.
