There’s a new project area coming up for those looking to participate in the Adair County Fair.

Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that they will be holding a workshop next week for this project area, which will be a mini house design challenge. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about this.

“The goal of this project is to teach youths to start thinking like a designer, a builder, a problem solver. And you’ll be planning and creating a scale model of space. So you’re going to learn how to do functional layouts, how to plan those, and think through real world constraints, like how much space do you have.”

Savage mentions that the event will also have individuals design creatively under limits, and practice spatial reasoning, basic architectural and engineering concepts. She adds that this workshop will be from 10am to noon on March 28th at The Gathering Place in Greenfield.
