Adel-DeSoto-Minburn senior Cole Darling won back to back Individual Bowling Titles for Class 2A, as Head Coach Jason Kilker shares how he performs at his best during the biggest moments.

Kilker explains that Darling earned a number-two seed for Class 2A last year, then would go on to knock off the seventh seed, six seed, and the overall number-one seed of Trey VanWyk from Oskaloosa to win his first title. This season, Darling was the four-seed and first faced Davenport West’s Aiden Elam (#5), then beat the top-ranked individual from Le Mars, Taylor Lindner, followed by the second-seeded Slayton Schroeder, also from Le Mars. Kilker highlights that Darling loves high-pressure situations.

“He’s kind of a gamer, and he likes it when he has to perform and it just makes him perform a lot better, so he really just has that attribute. He’s in pilot school and stuff too, so maybe he just has those ice in his veins, but he’s a great kid, he’s a great team leader, and obviously he’ll be missed.”

Darling is one of four seniors graduating from ADM, with the others being Treyton Lee, Ty Lovejoy, and Colby Simons.
